The landscapes of Walloon Brabant, rendered as miniature planets, form part of my photographic world. Around Chaumont-Gistoux and Vieusart, the woods, fields and villages provide me with familiar starting points. This selection shows how I transform these places into circular compositions.
Familiar places, a different horizon
Photographing close to home allows me to return to a place, observe a season or wait for a different light. These familiar landscapes are not merely a backdrop: they form the substance of my research and hold a place in the story behind each photograph.

Chaumont-Gistoux: from landscape to composition
From the moment the photograph is captured, I transform perspectives to construct a circular space. The lines of a path, the volumes of trees or the texture of a field can guide the eye towards the centre or towards the edge of the image. Each photograph calls for a particular balance.

The woods and villages around Vieusart
Vegetation and traces of human presence come together in these compositions. A woodland edge, a tree or a village may remain recognisable, whilst changing in scale and role within the image. I leave it up to the viewer to recognise the location or to imagine their own territory.
