PAUL MARNEF EXHIBITS AT THE ART3F CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR

Dear art-loving friends,
This article archives the announcement of my art3f exhibitions in Luxembourg, from 15 to 17 September 2023, and in Paris, from 22 to 24 September 2023. There, I presented the world of my mini planets and a selection of photographs. You can find the spirit of this exhibition here and, on my Exhibitions page, details of my other events.
My mini-planets play on a duality: they remain linked to a real landscape, whilst offering a space that is both familiar and strange. The circular perspective becomes a compositional tool. Beyond the technical transformation, I seek an image that leaves room for daydreaming and interpretation.
The announcement concerned two events in September 2023: art3f Luxembourg from the 15th to the 17th, followed by art3f Paris from the 22nd to the 24th. My plan was to present a selection of *Imaginary Planets* there and to meet visitors to discuss the prints. These dates have now passed.
What appeals to me about a group exhibition is the coming together of different worlds. Visitors can move from one subject to another, pause in front of an image and strike up a conversation. I hope that my photographs can be discovered through this freedom of perspective.
The announced selection brought together works representative of my artistic world alongside more recent creations. The images shown below provide a glimpse of this exhibition; the details currently available can be found on the individual artwork pages.
The announcement also presented augmented reality as a complementary way of experiencing certain works. An animation can enhance the image when viewed through a compatible app. My article on photography and augmented reality explains how I use it.
I like the way an image can first surprise the viewer, then invite them to see a landscape they thought they knew in a different light. Encountering the print also allows one to discover its format, its material and its light.
