Why I sometimes choose ChromaLuxe
ChromaLuxe sublimation gives some of my Imaginary Planets a luminous presence on aluminium. As a fine art photographer, I choose this finish when it enhances the colours, contrasts and the sense of floating in the artwork. How does it work, and what should one look out for before choosing it?
What makes these works even more special is that they are presented as limited editions and fine art prints, with particular attention paid to the quality of the print. To enhance these works, I have chosen a finish that highlights both the depth of the colours and the details of the textures: ChromaLuxe printing, with or without a frame. This advanced sublimation process translates my artistic visions into refined visual objects, establishing a unique dialogue between the artwork and its medium.
The Art of Sublimation: ChromaLuxe in the Service of Fine Art Photography
The ChromaLuxe sublimation process transfers an image, using heat and pressure, onto the appropriate coating of a panel. This is a different process from a mounted paper print. The result depends on the panel, the file and the laboratory’s workmanship.
In my compositions, I appreciate the presence of colour and contrast on this medium. The choice of a glossy or matt finish depends on the lighting at the exhibition venue: the desired effect and the reflections are part of the decision.
Limited-Edition Works for a Unique Experience
The limited nature of each creation reinforces the exclusive character of the Imaginary Planets series. I personally ensure that each work is available in a limited number of copies, thus offering collectors and art lovers a limited-edition print to add to their collection. Each print is numbered and signed, guaranteeing its authenticity and rarity.
My aim as an artist is to offer you an immersive and timeless aesthetic experience. With ChromaLuxe finishes available in several sizes, my creations are suited to a variety of settings, whether in a home, an office or an exhibition space. You may also choose a shadow-box presentation to showcase the work within an elegant frame, or an unframed version for a more minimalist, contemporary effect.
Durability and conservation: the limits you need to know
I choose ChromaLuxe when its surface enhances the image. It does not make the print indestructible: care, handling and display conditions still matter. The manufacturer distinguishes between panels intended for indoor use and those in its Outdoor range; moisture resistance does not mean that an indoor panel is suitable for permanent outdoor display.
For maintenance, follow the laboratory’s instructions corresponding to the panel and mounting received. Also check the hanging method, weight and lighting before installation. Do not confuse scratch resistance with the absence of risk: a work of art deserves to be handled with care.
The Creative Process: A Meeting of Art and Technology
Creating an Imaginary Planet is not merely a matter of capturing a landscape. Each image is the result of a meticulous artistic and technical process. I begin by photographing natural elements – trees, fields, mountains – in specific lighting conditions that accentuate the beauty of the scene. Then, through post-production and digital manipulation techniques, these landscapes are transformed into floating spheres, self-contained worlds where nature appears suspended in space.
ChromaLuxe printing thus becomes the natural extension of this process. Thanks to its ability to render minute details and saturated colours, this technique allows me to faithfully convey my artistic intention. Whether it is a sunset with golden hues on Knokke beach or a field of sunflowers in black and white floating in the vastness of the sky, each work becomes a complete visual experience.
Framed or Unframed: The Art of Enhancing the Work
One of the key choices I offer my collectors is the framing. The ChromaLuxe finish with a shadow mount adds an elegant and sophisticated touch, framing the artwork whilst leaving it space to breathe. This type of framing creates a subtle distance between the image and the wall, thereby accentuating the sense of floating already present in my ‘Imaginary Planets’.
However, for those who prefer a more contemporary look, the unframed option offers a minimalist aesthetic that directly highlights the quality of the print and the visual impact of the image. The choice of frame depends on the setting in which the artwork will be displayed, and I encourage every collector to choose the finish that best suits their space and personal taste.

Getting out of the Vortex
Immerse yourself in the captivating world of my ‘Imaginary Planets’ series with this intriguing creation, entitled ‘Getting out of the Vortex’. This work transports you to a world where the vastness of the heavens blends with the powerful dynamics of a mysterious implosion, frozen in a moment of pure suspension.
A seagull, emblematic of freedom, soars majestically within a swirling cloud and among strange rectangular columns rising from the void. This almost supernatural scene blurs the boundary between sky and earth, inviting us to redefine our perception of known and unknown spaces. Escape becomes tangible through the bird’s aerial movement as it defies the laws of gravity, whilst the enigmatic columns evoke the silent force that propels every flight, every act of freedom.
This artwork, available in a ChromaLuxe finish, with or without a frame, crystallises the idea of an escape to an elusive elsewhere – a visual reminder that one can sometimes transcend the turmoil of everyday life by taking a step back. Getting out of the Vortex captures this essence of perpetual motion and emancipation, offering a window onto the infinite.
