In my artistic photographs of trees, a familiar silhouette becomes the starting point for a world to be reinvented. A solitary tree, a circle of trunks or foliage that fills the entire sky: I take reality as my starting point to shift the frame of reference and allow another image to emerge.
This selection of art photographs of trees brings together several ways of exploring my Imaginary Planets. Some compositions seek tranquillity and simplicity; others guide the eye amongst the branches, colours and light. I invite you to discover them at your own pace, starting with whatever catches your eye.
The Tree, an anchor point in my Imaginary Planets
However, what interests me is not merely recognising a tree. It is the place it occupies within the image, the dialogue between its branches and the sky, or the way in which several silhouettes create a rhythm. By transforming the perspectives within a photograph, I can isolate this presence, make it float or set it in a circular motion.
Thus, the tree remains a link to the original landscape, even when the composition becomes imaginary. This transition from the photographed location to the artwork lies at the heart of my artistic practice. I also discuss this in the article devoted to the creation of my *Imaginary Planets*.

From colour to black and white, various depictions of the tree
In *The Lonely Tree Revisited*, colour forms part of the exploration and transforms the perception of a minimalist composition. In *The Round of Silence*, five bare trees create a more understated presence. *Breathe* gives prominence to the foliage, whilst *Regeneration* incorporates the colours of autumn into a circular movement.
Indeed, not all of these works seek to evoke the same sensation. I prefer to let you choose the one with which you form a connection. If you wish to continue exploring the plant world, you can browse the works under the ‘Plant’ theme.
Choosing a photograph of a tree for your home
Furthermore, the impact of a work of art also depends on the space in which it is displayed. The light, the surrounding colours and the available viewing distance all alter the way you perceive it. Before making your choice, take the time to visualise the space you wish to set aside for it.
You will find guidance on my pages about the formats and presentation of the works, and in my article on how to hang a fine art photograph correctly. The images in the gallery of installation examples are simulations designed to help you visualise the results.
Is a work already taking shape in your imagination?
