Fine art photographs of the sea

My fine art photographs of the sea extend my perspective on water, shore and movement. The coastline offers ever-changing lines: the edge of a beach, a wave, a light or dark expanse. Drawing on these encounters, I compose Imaginary Planets where points of reference shift.

This gallery brings together works related to the theme of the sea and the coastline. It is updated with my latest creations and their themes. Click on a photograph to discover its story and the print options available.

When the shore takes shape

I am interested in the way in which the boundary between land and water can transform. A horizon line can become a circle; a movement on the surface draws the eye elsewhere. The image retains something of the scene photographed, whilst offering a space that can no longer be explored in the same way. I like to leave this hesitation open, between recognition and discovery.

Living with a photograph of the sea

A seascape should not be chosen solely for its blue colour. Some prints rely on contrast, others on rhythm or texture. Compare the calm areas with the denser sections. Then imagine the work at the actual distance from which you will view it: this visualisation helps you to appreciate its scale.

To help you visualise the pieces, my installation simulations show various ways of displaying them indoors. You can then view the formats and media, as well as information on the limited-edition prints. Finally, if a piece catches your eye, I’d be delighted to discuss your choice with you.
