Paul Marnef: Photographer and Creator of the Imaginary Planets at the Saint-Martin Festival

I am Paul Marnef, a passionate photographer artist, and I am particularly proud to present my creations once again at the Saint-Martin Festival. This series of events, which takes place every year in Tourinnes-la-Grrosse has become an unmissable event for me. I am lucky to exhibit my works in a unique setting, at the heart of one of the oldest artist trails in Belgium. This experience allows me to share my artistic and poetic universe with visitors from all over the region.

Getting out of the Vortex: a photo creation from the Imaginary Planets series by Paul Marnef

Imaginary Planets: My Creative Universe

My photographic work revolves around my series called Imaginary Planets. These creations are suspended worlds, where the natural elements that I photograph are transformed into dreamlike landscapes. I like to explore the border between reality and imagination, where each planet seems to float in an infinite universe.
Each photograph is carefully crafted to create a unique atmosphere. My works are available in Chromaluxe or other fineart finishes, formats that offer exceptional print quality, allowing the colors and details of my images to fully express themselves. Each work is offered in a limited edition, and for me it is a way of making each piece unique and precious for those who acquire it.
Saint Martin's Festival: An artistic event

The Saint Martin's Festival is a highlight of the year.

Since 1965, this event has brought together hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors around art in all its forms. What makes this artists' journey so special is the involvement of the inhabitants of Tourinnes-la-Grosse and the surrounding villages. Each year, they open their homes, barns, and studios to welcome the artists and their works. This warm and authentic setting creates a real closeness between artists and visitors.

This year, I will have the pleasure of exhibiting at number 94, at Philippe and Diane de Behault's, located at 21 Rue de Valduc in Hamme-Mille. I will be accompanied by six other artists, each bringing their unique creative vision. Together, we offer a rich and diverse artistic experience, in a place full of conviviality.

My attachment to the Saint Martin Festival

Participating in this artists' journey is an honor for me, but also a real pleasure. The atmosphere that reigns at the Saint Martin Festival is incomparable. It is an event where exchanges are at the heart of the experience, where I can chat with visitors, explain my approach, and share the stories behind my Imaginary Planets.
This event also allows me to meet other talented artists, discuss our practices and discover new sources of inspiration. Since the creation of the Festival in 1965 by Max van der Linden, nicknamed Miqui, this event has become a symbol of sharing, curiosity, and creativity. I am proud to be able to perpetuate this tradition and make my contribution to it.

Why come to the Saint Martin Festival?

The Saint Martin Festival is not just a simple artists' journey. It is a truly immersive experience, where art invades every street corner, every house, every studio. With more than 220 artists exhibiting in 99 locations, this event offers unparalleled artistic diversity. Whether you are an art lover or simply curious, there is always a work, a meeting or an exchange that leaves a lasting impression.
I invite you to come and discover my creations and dive into the poetic universe of my Imaginary Planets. It will be a pleasure for me to welcome you at number 21 Rue de Valduc at Hamme-Mille and to discuss with you my artistic approach, my inspirations, and the creative process behind each work.

My creative process

Each of my Imaginary Planets is the result of meticulous work of composition and retouching. I am fascinated by the way nature can transform itself through the lens of my camera. I like to capture landscapes, details of everyday life, and transform them into imaginary worlds that seem to float in time and space.
Using supports such as Chromaluxe and Alu Dibond mounting allows me to enhance my photographs. These materials guarantee an incomparable print quality, with vibrant colors and exceptional durability. I particularly like the metallic rendering of Chromaluxe, which adds an almost futuristic dimension to my creations.

A moment of sharing

For me, the Saint-Martin Festival is much more than just an exhibition. It is a time when I can truly share my passion for photography and art with the public. It is also an opportunity to discover what my works evoke for others. Everyone is free to interpret my Imaginary Planets in their own way, to let themselves be transported by the atmosphere they give off.
It is this interaction with visitors that makes this event so special. I like to hear their impressions, their ideas, and see how my creations resonate with them. This dialogue around art is a source of inspiration and motivation for me.

See you in Hamme-Mille

So I invite you to the Saint-Martin Festival for a moment of discovery and sharing. Come and stroll through the streets of Tourinnes-la-Grosse, Beauvechain, Hamme-Mille, La Bruyère, Nodebais, Nethen, explore the different exhibition venues, and let yourself be carried away by the artistic diversity that characterizes this event.
