Imaginary Planets in Black and White

The poetry of reality sublimated by the power of black and white

In the vast and abundant world of contemporary art photography, certain works stand out for their ability to suspend time, to invite inner breathing, to summon the imagination. This is precisely the ambition of my series Imaginary Planets in Black and White. These photographic works of art, both minimalist and powerful, are the result of an artistic exploration of light, form, and the absence of color.

The series is part of a demanding artistic approach, nourished by visual poetry, technical precision, and a deep attachment to nature, landscapes, and their evocative power. By using black and white as a visual language, I seek to reveal the essence of the world, to isolate elements to better create a dialogue between them in space. Each photo thus becomes a planet in its own right, a floating, autonomous world, suspended in an imaginary space-time.

A Clean Aesthetic for Maximum Power

The choice of black and white in photography is not insignificant. It allows for a stripped-down interpretation of the image, a refocusing on light, textures, and contrasts. Where color tells a story, black and white suggests. It offers greater room for emotion and interpretation. In my Imaginary Planets, this reinforces the effect of floating, abstraction, and distance from reality.

Each shot is meticulously considered. The framing, the lines of force, the balance of matter and emptiness are at the heart of my approach. The landscapes are often devoid of humans, but never without presence. They are places inhabited by air, light, and silence. Spaces open to reverie.

This collection of photos is both an invitation to contemplation and a visual exploration of our relationship with the world. It questions our place, our perspective, our ability to extract ourselves from the daily flow to connect with what is essential.

Limited Edition Art Prints: Originality and Exclusivity

The photo prints in this series are all numbered and produced in limited editions. This means that each work is produced in a limited number of copies, guaranteeing exclusivity and value for collectors and art photography enthusiasts.
I work with a Belgian photo lab renowned for its high standards, a truly exceptional photo lab that perfectly masters the subtleties of pigment inkjet. This process allows for remarkable print quality, with deep blacks, subtle gradations, and exceptional fine detail.

I prefer this type of contemporary printing to older film processes, not only for its precision and durability, but also for its faithful rendering and richness of nuances. Each photo is thus enhanced on photo paper or FineArt paper, chosen for its texture, its ability to reproduce light, and its durability.

Piezography: A High-End Process for Exceptional Quality

Some of my black and white creations are also available using piezography, an ultra-precise fine art printing technique developed specifically to enhance monochrome photo prints. This premium, uncompromising process uses charcoal inks with multiple shades, printed in very high definition on high-quality fine art paper. Combined with baryta papers or the famous Canson Infinity papers, this method guarantees exceptional sharpness and extremely subtle gradations.

Piezography is also distinguished by its incomparable longevity: prints made using this process can last for decades without losing their density or finesse. Each photo print thus becomes a work of art in its own right, designed to last and stand the test of time. Whether to enrich a collection, decorate a space, or offer a unique art gift, choosing piezography is choosing excellence.

You can find these finishes in your order upon specific request, depending on the chosen work and the available formats. Do not hesitate to contact me to learn more about the supports, the possibilities of piezography photo prints, or to receive personalized support in the choice of your fine art print.

Formats, Finishes, and Presentation

The works in this series are available in several formats, from the most intimate to the largest, to meet all presentation needs, whether hung in a gallery, a professional space, or a private home.

Each print can be presented:
  • With or without a mat, depending on your aesthetic preferences;
  • Framed in an elegant floating box;
  • Or mounted on a rigid support such as Alu Dibond, for a modern and refined look.
I pay particular attention to the visual coherence of the whole. The large format allows for total immersion, a face-to-face encounter with the imaginary planet. The fine art paper enhances the texture and gives a soft materiality to the image. Everything is designed to make the photograph an object of art, a living element in the space.

An Exhibited and Recognized Series

The Imaginary Planets in Black and White have been featured in numerous exhibitions, notably as part of artist tours, galleries, and contemporary art fairs in Belgium and France. They have attracted a diverse audience: photography enthusiasts, lovers of refined design, art collectors, interior designers, and companies looking to incorporate black and white photographs into their professional spaces.

Each exhibition provides an opportunity for a new dialogue between the work and the viewer, in a simple and immersive display. The feedback is unanimous: black and white soothes, uplifts, and creates a sense of suspended time in the viewer's gaze. This series thus becomes a breath of fresh air amidst the tumult of our visually saturated lives.

For enthusiasts and collectors: a work of art to experience and to give as a gift

Acquiring a black and white Imaginary Planet means choosing a unique work of art, imbued with meaning and silence. It also supports the work of a professional photographer committed to a consistent, demanding, and sensitive approach. Each print is signed, numbered, and delivered with a certificate of authenticity, ready to be included in a collection or to be displayed in a living space.

These photo prints on glossy or matte paper also make a unique and refined art gift idea for loved ones who appreciate beauty, purity, and contemporary creation. A photo from this series can mark an important moment, inaugurate a new space, enhance an interior, or inspire a workspace.

For collectors, these prints are also an artistic investment, reflecting the growing appreciation of art photography. The photo art market is growing rapidly, and limited-edition works, produced under professional conditions, are gaining recognition and value every year.

An ethical, local, and sustainable approach

All stages of production are carried out in Belgium, in collaboration with local photo labs that share my values of quality, high standards, and respect for materials. The selection of media, inks, and packaging is made with care, with a focus on sustainability and respect for the environment.
Local supply chains and people are at the heart of my practice: I prioritize direct communication with my clients and personalized support, and I take the time to listen to the desires, needs, and constraints of each space or project.

Conclusion: an invitation to see black and white art photography differently

With the Imaginary Planets in black and white, I wanted to create a timeless series, on the border between reality and dreams, where the world folds into simple forms, inhabited by light and silence. This work is as much a quest for harmony as it is a demanding photographic exploration. It is aimed at those who seek more than just an image in a photograph: a breath, a vibration, a window onto a possible elsewhere.

By choosing to acquire one of these works, you bring a part of this vision into your home. You become the custodian of a fragment of visual poetry, a suspended moment captured in the tumult of the world.
