Choosing the right frame material
Choosing the frame material is another crucial step for me. I favor two main materials: wood and metal.
Wooden frames: I like wood for its timeless and warm side. A solid oak frame can bring an organic and authentic touch to my works. However, for my more contemporary works like the 'Imaginary Planets', I can opt for painted wood, in white or black, in order to create a stronger contrast while maintaining a certain elegance.
Metal frames: Metal, especially aluminum, fits perfectly with my modern and minimalist aesthetic. For my 'Imaginary Planets', black or silver anodized aluminum frames add a futuristic and refined touch, in keeping with the style of my creations. Metal also allows me to highlight the finest details without ever distracting from the image.
Chromaluxe finish: an option for excellence
One of the options that I particularly like is the Chromaluxe finish. Thanks to this sublimated printing technology on aluminum, my works benefit from vibrant colors, high scratch resistance, and exceptional durability. By opting for this finish, I can give my images an incomparable depth and modernity.
Some of my 'Imaginary Planets' are available in Chromaluxe finish, with or without an American box. This presentation allows the image to "float" on the wall, creating a striking and contemporary visual effect. This is an option that I often offer to my clients who care about modernity and quality.
The American box: a prestigious frame
I am also a big fan of the American box, a framing option that allows the work to breathe. With this technique, the image seems to float in the center of the frame, which reinforces the visual impact of my works, especially those in large format.
When I combine the American body with a Chromaluxe finish, the result is both modern and refined. I often play with neutral colors for the American bodies (black, white or silver) in order to reinforce the power of the image while maintaining a sober and elegant presentation.
Glass: Protection and Shine
In some cases, I also opt for glass to protect certain works. I have the choice between different types of glass, from standard to anti-reflective glass, including museum glass. The latter, in particular, is an excellent choice for those who want perfect transparency and UV protection. For me, it adds an extra dimension of quality and professionalism.
When working with glass, I sometimes like to add a mat, which can accentuate the depth effect and give an extra elegance to the presentation.
Alu Dibond and Plexiglas: contemporary options
As an artist, I am always looking to innovate in the presentation of my works. This is why I also use lamination on Alu Dibond or Plexiglas, two modern materials that give my images a unique rendering.
Plexiglas offers exceptional shine and depth, while Alu Dibond allows me to obtain a more sober and minimalist matte appearance. For some of my creations, I offer these finishes in order to meet a growing demand for modern and durable options.
Conclusion: the art of sublimating a work with a quality frame
For me, each step of the creation of a work, from framing to finishing, is an opportunity to push the boundaries of photographic art. Whether it is wooden frames, metal frames, Chromaluxe finishes or Alu Dibond mounting, I always ensure that every detail is taken care of.
As an artist, my goal is to deliver unique works to my clients, both aesthetic and durable. By collaborating with galleries and collectors, I ensure that my creations, especially the 'Imaginary Planets', are presented in the best possible way, in frames that reflect their singularity and quality.
